Finally have my plan B at a low brace pulling about 52-54 lbs.  I  can't understand why this is going so slowly...

All these bows are awesome, guys!

beachbowhunter

David those look like static limb tips. I can only imagine how tough those could be to get tracking right. Nice work!

Kelly, I pulled the first limb out of the form tonight. Looks good, so I'll get number two in shortly. I've ran into a few unanticipated bumps along the way, and have been working too much OT lately to justify working in the shop much. But I finally have everything I need (except time) to get this bow done. I think it's gonna turn out real nice, as long as nothing else goes wrong. I hate that I'm going over the deadline, but, in this case, there wasn't much I could have done about it. Don't worry *******, you're gonna get a nice bow soon! One way or another.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.

My last coat of clear just went on. I have to serve a new string and ass the fur silencers... Shoot it a couple times and then ship it out. I'm hoping to have it all done tomorrow but I work till 4am and got to take my dog to the vets tomorrow. It will def be in the mail on Thursday.

Ok Kelly my bow is hitting the road tomorrow. I'll get ya a tracking number tomorrow. Watch out everyone!!!

I check this everyday and I am continually amazed by the quality I see. Now I just need one of these darn things to land on my doorstep. I do have to admit I really like looking at each one and wondering if that's the one.

Wooooooo!!!

Just got home from vacation and found a nice present on my doorstep!

Woodcarver2 sent me a dandy of a bow, it's all bamboo limbs with paduak maple walnut and jatoba riser. It is super nice work and I'm very happy it's finally in my greasy little hand.

He also sent a very nice bracer(?) which I'm looking forward to trying out some more. I might have to trim it down to child size but it is very fine work like the bow.

Sadly, the bow encountered a bit of turbulence on the way over from Ontario, and one of the horn tip overlays cracked right at the string groove and the end popped right off along the glue line with the backing.

I will get a new piece of antler on there ASAP so I can get you all some braced and drawn pics.  You're gonna be jealous, it's a fine bow.

David, thank you for the great work. Don't sweat the tip, no ones fault. I will get her fixed right up and good as new in no time. What kind of finish is it so I can match it?

KellyG

awesome another bow with its new owner.

hi all...

i was away for a while but this does not mean that i have run away. (i had to attend to exhibition for my fish counting machine)

now, i am back and ready to make some changes on the bow that i am building at the moment.

i have to remove some layers and some bits and pieces.

now it is in the gluing stage and i think i will finish it soon and post a picture here before ship it.

best.
these are not the droids you are looking for.

My bow has shipped out and the label said that it should be there on Friday. I got it going two day Priority but I don't know how much I believe that. Keep an eye out for a large cardboard tube with duct tape ends.... Fingers cross it gets there in one piece and that *%&#*($ likes it as much as I did. It definitely is my best bow to date that I have built.

wood carver 2

Ben, I'm glad you like the bow. I'm sorry it arrived with a damaged tip. If you need a piece of antler, I might be able to scrounge something up for you. I finished the bow with two coats of spray shellac followed by several coats of Minwax mat poly.
I hope you enjoy shooting it as much as I did. It's pretty snappy for an all natural material bow.

Ink, hate to see that happen to you again.  Just remember "Patience" is what it takes to make a bow.  I sure hope this one works out for you.
