well finally got her done. I think it looks ok. Its 62" ntn, 45# at 28",six coats of try-oil, black walnut tips, black leather lace grip and a floppy rest. She fought me a bit especially the end with the knot whole. But I persevered. Enjoy the pics.

It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.

Hey macbow, how lucky are you? you actually live near a place called osage beach. Is it named that for a good reason?
I was just in Mo. in October visiting family. Might have to time my next trip so I can make mojam next time

Echatham, no set so far. lost some of my reflex that I heat bent into it. That first picture is right after it was unstrung. Ive put between 100 and 200 arrows through it so far. Just some junk arrows a friend gave me. currently making a list supplies to purchase so I can make my own arrows and strings.
red hill thanks for the applause. I wanna start another one soon, but my wife wants me to finish the remodel I started on the bathroom. The water works and the toilet flush, what ,more can you ask for

That turned out really nice - full draw looks very good to me - nicely done!

LittleBen

That's a serious grip and a serious mustache. Nice bow man. Not alot of guys would have the fortitude to tackle a knot like that on a first osage bow.

ffdiggs

LittleBen- I figured if I can make a knot like that work, when I get a really good piece it might go a little easier. Besides I kinda like character bows.

The mustache is kind of my trade mark.
It drives my wife and kids crazy when people stop me in public places and ask for a photo.
