David Flanrey

It is really hot here today.  Couldn't stand it too long in shop but did get a little work done.  Working on a longbow riser wif lots of pieces.

Here is how it went to the oven.

bigbob2

that looks interesting, what is the dark colored piece ,actionwood?

David Flanrey

Bob, the black wood is diamond wood from Bingham.  The redish brown wood is grenadillo.

Swissbow

Finally finished sanding my latest bow. Took forever, seemed like every time I picked it up I was sanding on it! But I'm pretty pleased with the outcome! All I need now is to put on some buffalo hide. Was trying to finish it by this weekend but it looks like it'll be next weekend now. Here's a teaser pic for now.

Thx David. When I talked to Big Jim I told him I wanted some dark cocobolo, he said he had some that was almost red but I wasn't sure how it was going to look with the myrtle. I'm glad I listened to him. He did good!!
