You can put that in a big box and store it with me.  "Store" it.

I've been carving a new hunting horn, a really ornate piece this time.  After I finish it, I might start another bow, but I want to get this one finished and find it a home.  I like working with horns.

If I was closer, I would give you some.
Can you post some pictures of the horn?

I'll put them up tomorrow, but I'm pretty early on.  This one is working well for cameo style carving, but it has a long way to go.

Since my 1st bow turned out light for my recipient, I got some new materials in last week. This time I went with clear glass since they were out of the black. I was worried about air bubbles since I don't have much experience, but got lucky and it turned out alright. The last time the core was hard maple and the limbs were black glass. This time the core and limbs are walnut which makes the bow look completely different. I really like it so far. I tapered the limbs this morning and will do the overlays and handle this afternoon. I had already made 2 strings for the other one...a dacron and a fast flight that should fit this bow. I am on schedule to get it out by the deadline, barely.

I finally finished cleaning out my shop. Then I carved a teal decoy, ( I haven't made a decoy in a long time.) and I put a couple of coats of varnish on a longbow and a plaque that will be a retirement gift for a friend's co-worker.
Good day today.    :)

Poured up a very large batch of string wax, this time in small containers for the quiver or such.  Inquisitive kitten caused a spill leaving me to have to scrape all the wax off the bottoms of the wax cups.  Still got 30+ string wax cups.  Got to look at other ideas for pouring without spilling everywhere.

I finally got my 12'x 24' bow shop building moved to my new (to me) house..I got the  building movers to help me move my band saw(420 lbs) Sanders and drill press into the building too. I gave them a nice tip. My electrician is going to upgrade everything in the shop when he has time 2-3 weeks..until then I will remodle the inside of the shop.

Today I wrap up my visit back home. I am reminded of how nice it would be to live closer to my dad's shop...

I don't know, CanopyBoy....I've seen the woodworking tools at your place, and some of the finished products, and it doesn't seem like you're too far off the mark of having all you need right there at home.     :archer:

Yeah but...I don't think I'll ever fit a thirty-six inch wide belt sander in there.

Today I'm cleaning up the shop, getting rid of a bunch of unnecessary stuff.. here is a pic of my glue up room, I glue lams up on the long side(10ft) and put forms on the right hand side(7ft) of "L" shaped bench, I store the oven and timer under the bench, it has castor wheels.

nice set up Robert--I use a dedicated glue bench also- and screwed two clipboards on either end to hold multiple layers of masking paper and tear them off as I go along--

4-5 layers usually is plenty

these paint spatulas are the best glue spreaders I've ever used--

Ran a half marathon this morning. Been injured since March, looks like the recovery is coming along. Made it the whole way, although time wasn't great. But they had beer at the finish line!

Good for you Dave.  I would have just hopped in my truck and headed straight for the beer.

Finally got my latest project assembled tonight after spraying it over the weekend. My photography skills aren't the greatest, but hopefully it looks acceptable.
