I glued up my first Trilam. Pretty happy with the process vs crafting glass bows.

cool!
I'm hoping to get one to turn out soon myself.

I was fortunate to not get a call while glueing it up at the fire station lol

I hear ya bamboo...this year's snow is a bit brutal.

I just got done shoveling an average of 3' of snow off my roof today..with drifts that were over 5'..not kidding.
Then chopped through 8-10" of ice in several spots around the roof  to give some channels for water to drain.

...on the flip side, I'm just now getting ready to take the family to a surprise trip to a local indoor water park for a taste of summer in February...lol

Stunning color on that handle, I think the only way to keep et excactly as is would be to use a waterbased finish. Bue--.

Nice Bue.

I had a pin knot giving me grief on my last BBO after shooting it some more. I didn't notice the knot until I had it almost tillered and had removed enough wood to get down to it. The knot started to lift and crack a little last Sunday at a shoot.

I took out the knot and glued in a patch. I shot it today and after 3 rounds of 30 targets each it still seems to be holding so I'm touching up the finish. Still gunshy but hoping.

Sat down and shredded about a gallon bag full of sinew.  If I'm gonna be stuck on my back, I can at least be productive.  Also cut a pair of thumb rings, still got to finish smoothing the outside and the inside needs a few strokes of a file, but they fit almost perfect.  One's osage, the other is black walnut.  Both Manchu style, so wood's fine for them.

The patch job looks to have been expertly executed.    :)   Bue--.

Got the first glue up off my new R/D form. Doesn;t seem to be too great of a job. Will need some tweaking for the next run.

Did hold a nice R/D profile as I wanted. Hopefully the glue lines aren't too bad once I narrow it down. It's currently just over 1.75" but will be narrowed to 1.5" after I glue on the second portion fo the riser, and the belly lams which will run up the belly side fades.

It was supposed to be a bamboo bakced ipe with walnut core and redheart riser ... but it may end up being scrapwood.
We shall see.
