Well,  I was hoping to finish up my first recurve today.  As I started spraying it with spar urethane, I was thinking about how nice the riser looked, until something I was expecting to turn clear stayed white.  Aside from that, I'm pretty happy with the way this tuned out.  So, now it's a waiting game for that first coat to dry so I can go back to sanding. Do you think that's just excess epoxy in the first picture where limb meets riser?

Looks like masking tape got under the overlay.
I never seen that happen before

Easy enough fix.

Thanks, Chuck. If it's never been done before, there's a good chance I'll do it.  I'll take a closer look when that urethane dries.

Looks good Eric! I think Chuck is right on the tape.
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Well I meant that tongue in check Eric.
I might have had to fix that once before myself.

Did you use Smooth-on to glue on your overlays? Some epoxies will leave a white or clouded appearance when finished.  I've seen some over-the-counter tube epoxies do this.

Chuck hit the nail on the head.  I guess I missed that from the cloudiness from the sanding.  Oh well, nothing a little time and some more elbow grease can't fix, I hope.
