I run into this problem every time I try to do a light poundage bow, 30-40 pounds. The limbs are so limber that you can shake the bow and the limbs flop, yet it's probably close to 50#. I think I know what the problem is but would like your input please. I have a stack of .227, 1 piece of .043 clear ULS, 1 pc .050 clear ULS, 2 .030 veneers and a .002 taper, .074. Thanks Tony

I myself have found a difference in core material can influence that a bit. I won't Use anything but maple for my lighter bows and I'd put the thicker glass on the belly for extra stability. You might to shallow the pad angle a bit to stiffen the preload.

how wide?
whats your limb profile look like?
how far out from the fades do you start the side taper and how close to the hook?

My recurve had the same problem-floppy limbs. It had a .002 taper. Pretty common in recurves. I redesigned the limb to have a bit more hook and tried a parallel limb but ended up liking .001 taper the best. So what you have got is not enough preload.Strung and unstrung pics would be nice for more comments to give you more help.

I have discarded those limbs, but I was thinking that a .001 taper would help with my problem. Any suggestions on a stack for a 40# three piece take down recurve. 60"AMO, 15" riser with 27" x 1.6" wide limbs.

On my curve design going down .001 in the taper rate only inc my poundage by 6-7 lbs. I'd think you'd do ok with a .220 stack.

HAHAHA guys, I don't need to waste one on a set of limbs! Dave using the .001 taper is what I was thinking. I'm going to try the .220 attack as well. Thanks Tony

Wasn't there a post on here about a viagra bow recently?  Funny, there was no blue in that bow anywhere.
