For your light bows, in the 30 to 35lb range, what draw weights do you get at 20"?

Or maybe a better question: what is the draw weight change per inch of draw? 2lbs?

macbow

On my light weight wood bows like BBI 2 pounds is about the max. Sometimes only 1 pound per inch.

Maybe 20 pounds at 20 inches or less.

That would be a fair assessment, however it all depends on the bows design.

Some will gain 1 pound per inch from brace, say until 20" then 2 - 4# after that.

Just depends on design.

Anyone have some actual numbers? My bows are all on the rack several thousand miles away right now.

macbow

Paul are you talking glass backed bows or just wood?
Also are the ones in question 35 @ 28 or 26 inches?

To get actual numbers we need an actual bow, or at best give, us the model bow you are speaking of.

Best guess I would give would be for a 35# at 28" would be 25# at 20".

For a straight limb 64" longbow.

Not looking for a particular model. I'd like to get a ballpark on adult (28") light draw (30-35#)bows at 20". The reason is bc many archery shops sell adult bows to kids saying they'll grow into them. This often over-bows kids from the start. I'd like to know how much. I have such numbers for my bows and some others, just not handy.

macbow

Well I don't have any factory glass bows in that range.
I mostly make kids wood bows and deal with the weight as needed.
Sorry
