Couple of pics of my first attempt at a tri lam. Two pieces of hickory and boo on the back. Riser is hickory and osage. If all goes well will post more pics as I go.
Special thanks to some guy named "Roy from Pa"    for all his advice on this build. Printed out some of his PM's and stuck them to the wall in my shop.

Been a while guys. I am absolutely disgusted with this bow. Started out for a 40# @ 28" bow wound up with a 25#@24" bow. Got in too big a rush, took too much wood off, worked and worked the tiller and when I short strung it WHAM! a hinge. I stopped everything and took off more wood where it didnt bend and left the hinge alone. I didnt crack or anything but just to be safe(?) I glued up 1/8" pieces on the belly and started to retiller. And WHAM another hinge appeared in a different place and the wood had hardly been touched. Kept at it and still have a slight hinge on bottom limb. Question is do I continue with this (it will now be for my little girl) or make it scrap. Hate to stop now with the cost of boo, osage in the handle, etc. What's your take on this hard learned lesson? Finish or walk away?      :confused:        :confused:        

Make it for her... Lick your wounds and start over for you...

Tough luck. Nobody said it would be easy even though Roy makes it look that way.

You will learn a lot trying to fix those hinges.
Don't quit till you got a bow for your daughter or it's fire wood.
