Anyone ever put on a tip wedge post glue up?  For instance say a piece of glass on the belly side of the tip tapering down to about 4-6" past the nock?  Thanks for any input

PM Kirk at Bigfoot Bows.He has done and can probably help you. I am thinking just to proto type it would be ok just to see if it made a  difference. Then I feel it is better in the stack.

On my recurves I put an overlay. Usually its made out of wood. I use it for putting in the string groove. I'm not sure if it would be considered a wedge. They are around .050 tapering to nothing.  It does stiffen up the tip though.

I tapered a piece of clear glass on the belly side of the bow and like mike said it stiffened up the tip a little.

Thanks fellas. I figured it would stiffen it a little, this was more of an afterthought from one I just finished. I will try it and see what happens and let y'all know how it turns out...

I've put them on longbow limbs that need the tips to be stiffened using glass. On all my recurves I add a wooden overlay that I cut my string groves into.
