Riser on top?

Fellers, what are the pros and cons of putting the riser on top of all the lams. I`m thinking about doing my next one like that. I am talking hill bows.RC

I don't there are really any cons.  Lots of bows are made that way.

One pro is that it makes glue-up easier because you're only bending the glass down the fade outs as opposed to both the glass and another lam.

I think this is a good look with colored glass on the belly, but I don't like seeing the fade outs under clear glass - but that's just my opinion.

I`m wanting to sit the riser on top of the glass and not have it sandwiched between. Glue up all glass and lams and sit the riser on top of the belly glass. RC

Then you`ll need to stiffen up the area with a p-lam or it will pop- Sam Harper explained this perfectly in his BBI BA on poorfolksbows.com!
Btw when you do a reflexed Hill with 2-3" of reflex and a forwardriser it`ll be close to a D/R...
