Now off to the belt sanders to shape the riser...

Once the riser is shaped I get after the overlays with some 80 and 120 grit to fade them into the glass...

Once the riser and overlays are good I sand everything down with 120 up to 400 grit and wipe it clean with tack cloth n

Now I get the draw weight and check the limb bend one more time...

I spray a coat of Shellac on it and write the specs on it...

I finish up with 3-5 coats of finish...\\

It looks like you have a nice and efficient process.  Good looking bow too.

That looks great.  I like the braced shape.  That handle overlay looks cool too.

Nicely done!!! Is ther any way you would mind getting close up pictures of your finished handle... I love the contour of it and struggle bad when it comes to shaping. Thanks!!

It's hard to make a wooden bow which isn't beautiful, even if it's ugly.

I'm at work today but will try and get one tomorrow. Once you understand what your tools can and can't do and take your time, it becomes a lot easier

Ha! I think the longest part on this one was waiting for the epoxy to cure in the oven!

Hey Chris I got a question (and maybe Kenny will have an answer too...) you took a-wood for the core, I havent worked with it so far but if it is same as dymondwood it shall be a bad core because of it`s weight?!
If it is only beech/maple dyed and glued (not phenolic soaked like dymondwood) as the european/finish CWP is I`d soon place an order at CWP...
(they told me their product is not like dymondwood because not phenolic soaked, and I`m working on a "panzerholz"(tankwood, bulletproof speakers desks, flooring for anti-mine-tanks etc..) delegnit riser at the moment- and this sux, very strong and heavy but a hell to work with...can`t imagine that you work such stuff that easy!)
If you like to check out CWP:
  CWP-interesting stuff

  maybe I could FIRST have asked google...

But further opinions would be of interest too   :)

Moe, the actionwood is very similar to actionboo. It is a great core wood in my opinion. Looks like the cwp is like actionwood
