Probably been asked before, but.......can you use contact cement for backing glue? I realize for a lam glue up their are some obvious preferences and why these are used. But what about just for backing? BTW this backing is used primarily so I can add R/D to bow not just for safety reasons. Just trying to use what I got. Wood used would be either red oak or hickory.

No. It won't hold.  Titebond is cheap.

John, I have got to quit posting questions until I am completely awake! Got plenty of TB and never had an issue. Why do we keep wanting to change when something already works fine? My wife says I think too much anyways.....  :banghead:

critman,

Don't stop asking them questions the next guy might not ever know what TB is and just have some rubber glue they want to try. And this might save them some heartache.

Plus you can use contact cement to hold on a floppy rest or handle wrap.

Thanks KellyG. I try not to post questions until after I have searched for an answer. For us guys still kinda new to this building business our questions don't seem silly but the responses or lack of makes me wonder LOL  :saywhat:
