Ok I don`t really think it`s the shortest LB hybrid ever built but I think this time I reached my aim to get a real short one which may still be called  a longbow.
She`s 54" ntn with 15" riser, braced at 8 1/2 DPP and drawn to almost 30".
I used a 0.002 total taper and decreased width from 1 3/8 to almost 1/4".
Maybe some of the more experienced and gifted bowyers could share their opinion about her with me... I`m looking forward to read them!

 
   

For the next I`ll go with a 003 taper and a 4-5" longer riser and pike the limbs to a certain draw limit-
Can imagine it`ll be supersonic  (and bigger hands will also be able to get a comfortable grip...) :D

Hey More, how about an unstrung pic. Is the brace that high because of a lot of reflex or trying to get the string off the limbs?
Get a shelf cut in that thing so you can shoot it. How does the preload feel at brace?

Wow.  That's an amazing bow.  Looks a lot like what I've been trying (and failing) to make myself.  It's a real accomplishment to me, longbow or whatever you define it as.  It would do really well here in the brush at that length.

Som1 recommended to give her about 9" so I came close to set it right when she`s ready for shooting.

That's a nice looking bow!  I make some 54's using .003 taper and narrow down to 1 1/8" so you should be fine going with the 1/4... very nice work once again. Bet that sucker's fast!

I better quit drinking too.  I can't see them either.

I've been noticing that problem with pics on other posts recently too.

Moe, you should be fine down to 1 1/4, I would definitely go with a longer riser, you are working the fades hard at full draw now. But when you move the bend further out towards the tip there is a chance the tips will be to week and you will get to that critical sting angle where the bow will stack. I would suggest only changing one variable at a time ie taper or riser that way you can pinpoint the changes caused by the single variable. That's just how I would approach it.

I could be wrong on this but the higher you go with the brace the more power you will loose because your power stroke will get smaller. More energy stored and less transferred to the arrow. I could be talking out of my ars though. Maybe some of the pros will pit their 2 cents in on this.

Get to shooting so you know how it feels now.

I can't see the pictures either.  And I've never had a beer in my life so it isn't a goggle problem.

That's a really nice bow, I like the riser. I have always liked that limb style, to me it's a true hybrid. I make a T/D that has the limb tip parallel with the string, I have found that style works with a recurve grip like you have and a slimmer longbow just as well.
At first I thought your limb was hinging just a bit past the fade, but after seeing the unstrung pic, it looks like it just follows.
KennyM could probably help with a good stack suggestion.

Cory thanks for the advice- changing one parameter a time will give better overview of the changes I get- first will be changing riserlenght and adepting limblength during set up- I`m aiming for a 58-60" LB with shortest limbs possible and a recurve-a-like long riser. The gap between limbs shall be kind of blacktail recurve style.
As you mentioned I`d be happier with lower brace to get longer boost.

I forgot, one asked me about the preload; as she came out at 20# only (again...) it`s not that easy to feel nor to measure with ma suitcase scale but it feels like theres about 70-80% weight at 50% draw- I`d more than satisfied with^^
