My digital scale that really worked well started malfunctioning right in the middle of a,bow build last week.
Just started weighing light.

Checked Wally World for a fishing, scale but they only went,to 50 pounds.

What have you all been having luck with?

I've been using the X-Spot scales from 3 Rivers myself. So far I've not had any problems.

I hope they're not the ones that malfunctioned on you.    ;)

macbow

No not that brand. The Nocking Point used to carry mine but Mike can't get them anymore.

I was using a  martin digital scale up until last week but after reading it upside down and not registering in my pea brain what was supposed to be 60# was in actuality 90#..could figure out why the bow broke  LOL  I switch to a hand held Easton digital scale that Easton sells to check your bow weight..pricy one but works sweet

I recently bought a non-digital scale and it seems to work well. Not the greatest, It's probably not the most accurate, btu it works.

I think it's this one ...  http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=7856&gclid=CJS1gNKg_bcCFUmY4AodmDAAIQ

I have good luck with the X-Spot digital scale.

Thanks for the replies.
Probably go with the x-spot. Have to wait for funds.

Mac, I picked up a luggage scale from wally world. It's similar to the fish scale but goes much higher in measurement. It also works pretty well.

I wouldnt trade my x spot for nuttin'. Ive had a few bows go boom on me while on the tree and those scales have went screaming across the shop. No problems at all.

Mac, my wife was looking for a smallish suitcase and I was holding up the cart, ya know. And I just glimpsed the luggage scale hanging nearby. It looked just like the fish scale but was meant for heavier weights.

I have the Easton Digital and have been using it for 4-5 years. Love it. I lost the battery compartment back a year ago. Of course the scale still works. I want to buy another (back-up) but I see they are no longer sold.

I don't see any handhelds like this one on the market?

There are lots of options on the World Wide Web too.  I personally prefer to work with our sponsors though!

I have the one from Cabelas which I like. I also have the one Old Roy posted...that thing is way off!  Go figure     :D

Now beachyboy, what's ya mean Old Roy? LOL

I hung a 50# weight on that old scale last fall and it was 1# over... Not bad...

I ordered the X spot yesterday, now I'm high tech...

Robertfishes

I have the spring scale very similar to the one Roy posted..its only 5 or 6 years old. I should upgrade I guess..

beachbowhunter

Royboy, the problem I have with it is that it doesn't start getting accurate until you are over 20 or 25 lbs. It zeros out at 5 lbs and is kind of a swag until the weights get heavier.

the thing I like about the digital is that when I am scaling a bow by myself, the reading stops and displays at the max point that I draw. With the spring one I need to look and remember!

No wonder you don't like it, most of your bows don't reach 20 - 25 pounds..   :)

I'm using a cheap Chinese luggage scale.  Probably not super accurate, but good enough for my needs.
