I think you are talking about the ones that fit on the tips that are used to find dynanmic center before the limbs are tapered? I guess some swear by them. I used to use them. Not anymore. I find a good center line and work off it. Shoot the bow during tiller process until the string lands dead center every time. On a curve you want dead center before any belly grooves are filed.

Yes, Crooked, the ones I am referring to are the "blocks" that are used to find the center of a limbe before it is profiled.

Sorry Moe, I am looking for something that fits over the end of a laminated limb tip so the bow can be strung before it has string grooves.

Is this what you are looking for? I had mine turned from steel. I have seen pics of three or four washers glued together with epoxy and then a slot was cut. Bue--.

Aaah K you mean an adjustable tillerstring with pockets instead of a flemish ear and a bowyers knot.

Just follow the lateral grain which runs tip to tip. You can see it. Draw the line down the middle. With a band sawed stave using a jig won't let you follow the grain lines.  MOre on my site. jawge
