Great idea!

Remember, you won't have to hit a specific weight, thousands of potential buyers lookin!

Makes it easy, huh??

Prob dont need any 70# @ 14" tho!
geeze Kenny what about this kid???[3rd grader--]  :D

I'll see what I have in kid's sized staves...

Oh,and my daughter says that her first bow, a little Rhino from when she was 4, can go to the auction along with some arrows.   :)

Mike, what have you been feeding Mikey. He'll be even better at dragging them deer out of the woods for you.

Hey Guys - If your wondering about dimensions for glass laminated kids bow, here's an example I just finished up for my 6 year-old son.

Straight limb "mini-Hill" style
48" nock-to-nock
1" wide at fades tapering to 3/8" at nocks
11.5" riser, 1 1/18" deep
0.040 black glass back and belly
one 0.002 taper hard maple lam, 0.140" butt thickness
Camo actionwood riser courtesy of Kenny

It pulls 14.5 # at 20"....12# at my son's draw and that seems to be a weight he can handle well right now.

No need to build another form.  I just glued it up on the same one I use for my Hill style bows and added a bunch of shims around the riser.

Thanks Kenny.  He thinks that camo actionwood is just the coolest thing ever in a bow.  And he keeps bugging for me to put beaver balls on it.  Need to get some.

John I have a whole Beaver hide that I can cut the beaver balls out of, " no pun intended McKenzie "   :)    I can send ya a pair or two, John. LOL this is getting funny.

Think I'll go to bed now:)

Kenny & Roy - Thanks for the offers guys.

Jonathan's got the hang of shooting with a tab I made him - he just didn't grab it when he came out for a couple pics. So save the no-gloves for another young archer.

Bobcat would be really cool, but so would the beaver balls lovingly trimmed by Roy.

I've been reading for a good while before I signed up, but this is something that hits home for me.  My only son passed away in January due to multiple congenital deformities, one day before he turned two.

I'm only building my first bow, but I have a completed powderhorn here that isn't too bad looking, if I say so myself.  Would you guys be interested in it, and if so, how do I do this?  I want to help keep other parents from the pain and loss we feel.  My son was not curable, and in the end nothing medicine knew could help him, but our Father did.  But every day we know more, and I live in hope of that myself.  Please let me know, I would love to honor my son's memory by helping.

Ed,
I'm sorry for you loss. Someone will be along that can tell you how the St Jude auction works and how to donate items. I'm not sure myself.

John,
Great job on that bow for your son! Very nice.

Just saw that we can start posting pics of the bows on the st. Jude forum listing. Don't forget some good pics.
