im pretty new to bowyering but not new to making
a few of my own tools
i decided that i wanted to try a small draw knife  so i figured why buy when i can make
if ya got some home made tools that you would like to post
i would love to see em
here is the small draw knife made from a simmonds file with a few simple tools and techniques
sharpens with a sharp file pretty easily and seems to hold an edge well
6.5 cutting edge and hickory handles

Here is a scraper I made from an old planer blade

Feather burner out of scrap wood and bolts.  I hook a car battery charger to the bolts and its good to go.

Hey Roy, That stave in the picture with the scraper is what I made Pearly's bow from.  It has some beautiful color to it.

Hey Duck that is the same electric hand plainer blade that I use as a scraper and it does a great job.  I don't have a handle on mine though.

Just saying this guy has more talent then he is letting on!! lol Seriously good thread interesting to see what folks come up with. BUT a man with this talent I'm curious where his bow building will take him and us!

I've got all kinds of self made tools, just not many specifically for bow building because I haven't made a bow yet.  But here are some that count for it...
