Heres one I came across on a creek bank the other day.

Wow wish we had some Osage over here . Anybody know how long it takes to grow into something useable?

You lucky dogs. I live in Georgia and have never seen an Osage orange tree. I'm using hickory for my selfbows. I have plenty of hickory if someone wants to trade.

This was one of many trees in a long hedgerow near Valley Forge in PA. Straight bole for 30'. Hiking trail ram alongside and there were dozens of trees like this one. Kept finding hedge apples and it took me a minute to realize these giants were Osage. I'm 6'4".

i was hoping to see a post from minnesota, no luck unless i missed it. I have yet to see an osage tree in minnesota.

An old friend has a hug osage tree growing on his property. It's the only one I can recall seeing in NY. Must have been planted years ago on that old farm. The house there had been one of the first ones built in the area. It had a cupaloon the top of the house. Iv' been told the oldest houses had these for watching out for the Iroquios.
