Am going to glue some Yew and Hickory with Titebond III and was wondering what is the best way to clean the wood.

dont score themating surfaces, if you are using titebond, only score if you are using urac or epoxy.
i have always cleaned thinks up with a clean, lint free cloth and acetone, then done the glue up.
your mating surfaces need to be good with TB.
TB 111 is the best choice i think- i like it for  silk and skin backings etc.
just gotta watch with the TB , that you dont overpressure the glue up, so that you dont get a glue starved joint. with a scored back and urac, you always have the score lines to hold the extra glue in.
TB 111will work great- a lot of folks use it with great success.

Thanks Fujimo.  TBIII is what I had on hand.  I figure the rubber band system you showed me wouldn't over pressure it.

nope- should be good, just watch how many bands etc- just use your judgement- and it will be good!!
