It's in the mail with an estimated date of arrival on Monday.

I told my family not to tell me if a bow arrives while I'm working. I'd go nuts waiting for 3:30 and prolly make all kinds of mistakes.    :archer2:
Watching all these great bows being built is inspiring to say the least.

I know what you mean Kevin about being anxious.  Mine has been done since early March, been watching the porch every day since.

Still some fine looking bows being made, I haven't seen one yet that I wouldn't be proud to give a good home.

I know what you're thinking...did he mean to put 6 asterisks, or only 5?  Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself.  But being as this is tradgang it could have been 3.  So you have to ask yourself, do you feel lucky?

You build awesome bows David. I get a lot of nice comments from people about the one you sent me last year.

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Nice bow David, I really like that one and hope it's headed this way.

Made some progress yesterday, although I got in a little trouble with the better half over it.  I went down to the shop to work on my daughter's dresser.  If y'all remember, I'm supposed to finish that before I build any bows.  Well, it was tough looking at those lams that Kenny sent, so I thought I'd at least take a few minutes to get them spliced and ready to go.  Here's one of the black locust core lams.

Well, heck -- maybe I should just spend a little more time and get the thing glued up today.  I toook out the clear glass I had and realized it was 1.75 instead of 1.5.  It actually cut quite well on the tablesaw with an old carbide skillsaw blade and a backer board underneath.  At this point I was feeling in the groove and forgot all about the dresser I was supposed to be working on.  Dang this bowmaking stuff...

Next I started making my form to go on my new bow press.  I decided for 1" of parabolic string follow over 72", so a bit less at my target 66".  I made a template and then used the router to cut out my form.  About that time my wife walked in with my oldest daughter as they were fighting over whether or not she had to volunteer at a girl scout camp for a week this summer.  They were both mad as hell and I just tried to keep working.  After about 5 minutes, my wife looked at what I was working on and asked why I wasn't working on the dresser.  She then got mad at me and stormed out.  I don't think my oldest daughter realizes that I did her a favor.

To get me back on track, she sent my middle daughter down as a proctor.  The dresser is for her anyhow.  So she sat there watching me and asking, "When are you starting on my dresser Dad?" every 5 minutes.  So I finished the press, took a picture for posterity, and put it away to start on the dresser.  Here is the press as it sits now, along with middle child carving in the background while she waits for me to get started.

I did make good progress on the dresser in the evening.  I think my plan will be to spray both the dresser and the bow at the same time.  But I will be into the overtime period on this one.  My apologies in advance to ***************.
