Kenny, that zebra has some kinda great pattern.  Beautiful bow.

Al, if your bow shoots as good as it's profile it should make make someone a terrific bow.

All these new bows are making me want to go hunting.

Al that is a great looking braced profile.  It really looks awsome.  Look foward to seeing it finished.

Kenny you could have just added that bow to my shipment I would have payed the extra shipping no problem.

Al I'm in York a few times a week I could just swing over and pick that one up too.

Holy Crap thats a lot of clamps. lol  I use strips of innertube...then squeeze clamps down the middle for center pressure.

kevin_h

There is one clamp every two inches..32 clamps for this bamboo and osage recurve,,,

The only bad thing was that I heard a very loud crack when checking all them..not sure, but this may be all for nothing..

Uhgggg..

Thanks Kenny.

Cabbage, either will be great in my riser, diggen those pierce points a bit more.   :bigsmyl:

I had two blanks glued up.  Both hickory backed cherry.  The cherry came from the same board.  I was working the lighter one kind of for practice and heard the  deafening tick.  Worked it a little more and got the snap.  I ended up with a piece of the backing about a quarter inch wide lifting with some cheery attached.  It's probably scrap and I'll go to the other one before I check more.

Looking at these pretty bows makes me think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get into making glass bows soon.  Some great looking bows any of which would I'd be happy to own.  :)

Trux Turning

Broke down and made a jig for my bandsaw to make radius cuts.

And it appeared to work- this was much nicer than free hand

D

That looks great trux...I wish I had a bandsaw that big sure would make life easier.

Trux Turning

Phase one done on the riser- got the first mosaic glue in... It's a start.

kennym

Dave, looks great, sorry I didn't get the swing jig pics taken, but you did it the same as I did!
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Here's my swap bow for *******  *******.  It's hickory and 50# @ 28".  Got a little woodburned art on the fades.  Supposed to look like cave drawings.  It's 62-5/8" NTN.  Got flipped tips and I left some of the inner bark on as camo.  I hope **** ********** likes it  :)
