4est Trekker I have seen some real nice Bloodwood bows.  Osage and Bloodwood are both in the Mulberry family of trees.

Well I got the pieces laid out today for *******'s bow.  Brown glass for back, zebra under clear for belly and zebra riser with a few red and black accents.  Now for a little more temp so I can work in my unheated garage.  Smooth on is just to hard to spread nicely below about 55-60 degrees.

gee, thanks for setting the bar so high fellas. I'm starting to lose sleep at night   :D
awesome work so far, hard to believe one of these bows could be mine !!

Lots of great looking bows here guys.  I found one last rough sawn cherry board in the barn with straight grain thick enough to resaw into two staves.  I glued them up with with hickory backings.  They are cut to shape and I've got some overlays and handle pieces ready to glue on and then I'll be ready to cut some string grooves and start tillering.  If one of those doesn't come out to my liking I have a couple other ideas to try.

It feels good to be working on a bow again.   :)

I love jumping on this thread and seeing all these beautiful arts of work knowing that someone may be heading to the woods this fall (I hope) with my creation and vise versa!!! Keep up the good work guys... Oh and you too Ol Man Roy!

Soy that is a sweet looking stik. I bet if you skin that bow someone might try and kill it. Heck I don't know if the wife will let me put it in the house if it is coming my way.

I hope it turns out that good!!!

thought I'd ask what would be the best way to ship a one-piece longbow. pvc tube? cardboard tube ? What have you guys done in the past with good results ?
