I keep running into these terms and everytime I think I understand them I come up dumb.  :confused:  

Could some one please give me a simple/ easy to understand definition of these terms so I actually get it, please.    

I want to learn what things are, so I come before the masters for instructions, help me old bow kenobi.

A laminated bow is strips of bow material glued together to form laminated bow limbs. These can be glass and wood,  or just wood (including bamboo) e.g. a bamboo backed Osage or ipe. My English longbow is laminated bamboo back with a purpleheart centre and a yellowheart belly.

A glass bow, is where there are strips of glass on the back and belly. In truth a laminated bow aswell but with glass.

I agree with PZee for the most part. But I think a bow with a single piece of wood for the core and a bamboo or wood backing is a backed bow, not a laminated bow. Laminated bows have multiple laminations... i.e.... more than two. JMHO
