Back in the shop for some bow building. The idea is to combine old ( mollegabet design ) with new ( glass and epoxy ). Here we go...

To make the ends of the limbs stiff I will glue in a wedge...


The limbs are made of an actionboo core and bamboo veneers...


Glued up and ready for the heat box...


Roughed out the limbs...

ive been waiting to see someone do this with glass....i have made a lot of lever selfbows...im not a glass guy but i m sure you can narrow those levers down more and shorten up the fade area so its not such a long transition...thats if optimum performance is your goal. it looks like you used osage out in the levers?? i wouldve used a much lighter wood like a spruce,cedar,or even something like a maple. youd be surprised how small you can go with levers as long as everything is lined up perfect(even with selfbows,and im sure you can even go less with glass)...i can go 1/4" wide along the whole tip overlay then tapering to 5/8" ten and a half inches where it meets the 1 1/2" long fade(12" long total lever).and my thickness starts at 9/16" at the fade to the lever and tapers to 7/16" right at the start of the tip overlay. this is with an osage selfbow

Ok, I worked on the riser today. The tips are still to wide, but I want to shoot it first, before I start to remove more material.





The tiller at full draw is looking good.


I shoot a few arrows in the shop and it's very smooth even though the tips are still way to wide.

had kind of troubles to prevent the limbs from twisting and keeping them straight.

Also worked on the riser...



Since this is an old design there's no shelf n'or window.
