hello to everyone thi sis my first post on tradgang but i have been absorbing information here for quite some time.  great forum.

my question is about a recurve bow that was damaged during shipping.  i think weight was put on it from the side cracking it accross the arrow rest and into the handle a bit.

ive searched other threads and seen advice on using thin superglue to fix cracks.  i was also told tightbond could be rubbed into the crack as if you were packing grease into a wheel bearing. can anyone advise on the best way to fix this or if it should even be attempted
thank you!     "

heres a shot where the crack follows down the back of the handle

Here , check out the effects of a rearward dismount from a mule. And not being able to let go of my bow in a scabbard.  :D

Nope,

Actually caught the hang loop of my backpack on a limb, and set off a chain reaction, scarin first me ,then the mule . End result was me llayin on my back in the trail.

Then I jumped up and said  I AM A COWBOY ,somebody catch that @#$%^&*() MULE!!

Didn't wear that pack while ridin again!!

Me and him had some other excitement like tryin to drag me off on some willow brush and leaping straight up a creek bank strait up and about 12 ' high.

That was the only time he dumped me tho!

You'd hadda been there...

LMAO, so one ole mule bucked off another ole mule yer sayen? :)

Reiko1078

That is exactly what I was looking for.   Someone else suggested drilling pilot holes and putting drywall screws all the way through and cutting the ends off flush.  I like the brass rod idea better though

Bjorn

I have fixed cracks like that and worse by simply allowing loctite 420 to find its way into the crack, and that's it.

I just wanted a mule-proof bow Bjorn!

So we didn't have this....  :deadhorse:
