This is the other bow I was working on for the bow swap. I guess you would call it a proto type since I took a wag on the stack and a few other parts. The bow is 62" 44#@ 28". I still need to put some finish on the limbs (got the riser done) and have already made some adjustments on the next set of limbs- but it does fling an arrow. The riser is leopardwood with a zebrawood I beam- limbs are zebrawood.

Trux, are you making another set of limbs for that riser or are you doing a whole new bow. Those take down bows do make it easier if you miss weight, just a new set of limbs and not the whole thing.

razorback- I could match up the new limbs with this riser but I may end up building a whole new one instead. Putting this riser together was a little challenging and I think I figured out a few improvements with that process also- plus I picked up a couple of pieces of wood recently that will make a nice riser.

So I ended up putting together another bow and change the limb angle with the wedge. Only real mess up was I made it a 64"er instead of 62"-lol. The changes to the limb did turn out well though (got the pre-load I needed).. I think I'll make another set of limbs for this riser with a heavier draw weight and 62"s -this one will finish at 39#@ 28".

Trux, What kind of wood is that it looks like canary wood or tulip wood but whatever it is it looks amazing!! Keep up the good work!

The riser is canary wood- it looks alot like tulip with all the red grain in it- the limbs and overlay on the riser are quilted sapele.

That makes me happy, I just picked up a lifetime supply of canarywood. I got 3 pieces that are 2.5" thick 8" wide and about 8' long!!! I have not got a chance to tie into it too much yet but I am hoping it looks like that.
