I've been using a Young feather burner for years. I burn my feathers on the front porch when the wind is blowing. d:^)

yer right Pat- they sure do make a stink!

I made my own out of a scrap piece of 1x board, some carriage bolts/nuts, and a battery charger.  I bought a few elements from 3rivers.  It works just like the one in the video, except it only cost me $6

It isn't pretty, but it works.  The carriage bolts go through the base.  I just put the clamps of the charger on the bolts and the wire heats right up.  The arrow in the picture was done with it.

Brilliant, scrub-buster! Great innovation, and for a lot less coin!

No front porch here, Pat B, but next time the garage door will be in the up position, for sure!

Thanks guys.  It wasn't my idea.  I saw it somewhere else, but I can't remember where.  I think they used a model train transformer for the power source. I think you can also use an old soldering gun if it has the two wires at the tip.

I did like Scrub-Buster a while back and yea it works fantastic. Everyone has a battery charger laying around right?

Just one question guys. How much charger is to much? The only one I own is a 10 amp decreasing charger. Don't want to burn the shop down.
Thanks,
Ed

My charger has two settings, 6 and 12 volts.  I set mine on 6 volts.  I've used jumper cables and a car battery before.  Just try it out for a few seconds and see what it does.  I take one clamp off in between arrows and brush the element off.

Traditional bowhunter had the plans for one with a train transformer years ago.  You can probably find plans for it on the internet.  Yep. 1992 Traditional bowhunter, Bambooarrow.com/burner/html

Mine looked realy old 30 years ago when I got mine at a yard sell.
I but washers behind where you see the screws that mount the holding device to the burner. So I can put full lenth or full heigth clears the burner a lot better.
