I've only built one glass bow, and never a take-down. I had some supplies laying around and thought I'd try a take-down recurve for my swap bow. After a few pm's to kennym, the rest of my supplies arrived.(thanks again Kenny) For this bow, I plan on using a piece of walnut with a 1/2" strip of curly maple and a 1/16" strip of black phenolic on each side of the maple. I wondered what glue to use while guing up the riser and also installing the take-down hardware? Do you guys usually use the smooth on, or something else? Thanks

I use smooth-on for all my risers, don't know about take-down hardware.

Smooth on for gluing up the riser- I use gorilla super glue for the hardware-smooth on will work also.

Smooth on works for the double threaded inserts. A dab on the bottom of the threads is all thats needed. The epoxy will feed itself back up the threads. The pins I score the bottom half before gluing and take the gloss off of the phenolic as well.

What they said!

I grind some lil notches in the pins too, just so they know where they are sposed to stay.
Stay sharp, Kenny.
