Nice job there Bona. You let a couple of them pigeons in and soon you'll look like a New York cit park.
Keep the wind in your face and the sun at your back.

great shooting. I have heard they are good eating but have not had the nerve to try them.

Good shootin Bona.

Kelly, they used to be called rock doves and were supposed to be good eating. I guess it would depend on what it ha been eating!

Squab (pigeon) is an Italian favorite and a delicacy

Bona,

You had me excited there for a minute, my brain filtered out the 2010 part.  But Bonhomie might have been a bit overkill...

Congratulations.  Great shot.

Well I work on Bridges for a living and You couldn't make Me eat one of those feathered Rats.

None the less it was a excellent shot Bona and a tribute to whoever built the bow You took it with.

i have eaten lots of pidgeon and dove- they are first class table fare. lots of dark breast meat.
and their diet consists mainly of grains and cereals-
say, anybody ever seen what lobster, crayfish an' crabs eat?

i'll tell you a little story.
the locals on the east coast of africa, would catch small crayfish in the shallow tidal rockpools- grow them up, then sell them on the side of the road- they were the hugest sweetest, most succulent  tasting crayfish ever.
how did they grow 'em so big- well they would throw them in their outhouses- that they had dug just on the tidal zone.
fresh salt water seepage, lotsa food.
CRAYFISH FEEDLOT!!!!
one day maybe i can tell you about all that beautiful beef that we consume- i have spent a lot of time working in cattle feedlots.- anyway i digress.
i geuss we grew up in africa eating all sorts of bizarre table fare!!!
i would eat those crays anyday before the beef- and most certianally a wild grown pidgeon would be my favourite.

awesome shot!!!.

Wayne, that was way too much info:)

Thanks all! I thought it was called squab. I didn't try to eat it but I thought about it. I've always heard that they carry disease.

Most birds can carry some kind of disease.  If they are not overcrowded in the buildings they probably won't have any diseases that pass to Humans.  Birds are fragile if they are sick you will know it. Wild pigeon is great.  Like a huge Mourning Dove.
