I have always loved the way Howatt shaped the risers on the Hi Speed,so I tried to make one similar.
This one has a B+W Ebony and Borneo Rosewood riser with East Indian Rosewwod and Maple accents.
Turned out to be a 52" bow pulling 50#@28".
I got my stack thickness from my Wing Hunter and got lucky as it came in just right.
I have not shot it yet want to let the finish cure for 4-5 days.
Hoping it shoots as good as the old Hi Speeds.
I am going to try and add some pics if I can figure it out.

That is absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!  I love it, you hit a home run.

Sal

That's as beautiful any Howatt bow I've ever seen.  I love the old Howatts, this one kinda remind me of the super Diablo from the 80's.

Thadbow

Great job, that is something to be proud of!

Jason Kendall

Thats some nice shaping you did there, well done!

Fletcher

That is outstanding, Bill.  It reminds me of my 58" Hi Speed.  The Hi Speed was also the inspiration behind the bows by the late, and great Jerry Pierce.

That is a fine bow! I love the way the riser is shaped, very professional looking. I bet it shoots as good as it looks.

PEARL DRUMS

I dont comment on glass bows all that often, but I cant hold my tongue on this one! Wow! I love the wood combo, the shape, the glue joints, and of course the overall bow is plain sweet. The black glass totally touches it off. That would be a hard one to turn away from and grab my ol' hedge bow rather!! Fine bow bowyer Bill

eflanders

Like Pearl, I don't often comment of the glass bows and/or recurves but that is one sweet looking bow!

SportHunter

Great job on a fine bow. Nice choice of woods as well.

Thanks guys,I really thought the first one out of this form would be a roll the dice type thing.
I could not be happier with the way it turned out.

monterey

Very nice!  I think you did well on duplicating the riser.  Damon Howatt risers have always been eye catchers and so is yours!
