I bought a Browning Wasp today and the guy had a Ben Pearson BP-H30 with a delaminated and cracked limb. The walnut is rather nice on the riser.

Any bowyer out there interested in it for whatever? He gave it to me so I have nothing in it.

If anyone is interested let me know. I thought I'd cut the limbs off for making shipping easier.

Maybe a swap for some field points or something to cover shipping.

If this belongs in the classifieds please let me know and I'll move it but I thought it might get more eyes over here for a project.

Looks like most of my shotgun stocks from Browning. The golden glow between the grain is nice. Someone globbed polyurethane on the riser in an attempt to repair the limb. Whatever it is it sure is a nice piece of wood.

could this be made into a t/d of some sorts? A buddy or mine has the best looking chunk of walnut in a riser I have ever seen and its an old Ben Pearson.

The older bows really have some nice wood ... Sometimes. I own 2 York thunderbolts and one is figured walnut and the other is very plain walnut. I believe the figured is older.

Bud cut the limbs off and taper the ends. Makes a great barn door handle if it can't be made into a take down. Just a thought.

I received the riser last week, thank you. I will make good use out of it when I get finished with all of my other work. I sent an e-mail soon after, but I guess you did not receive it. Also, this morning, November the 15th, when I received your message, I tried sending another back to you through this forum, but was not sure if you received it. Because of that, I decided to  attach this message directly. That way, you should see it.

I have built 4 bows at this point in time. The only problem that I encountered, was the very first one which had a slight de-lamination on the upper limb, which I attributed to either moisture, or contamination. Since that experience, I now always heat up the wood parts for 30 minutes before glue up. Also, I clean everything with acetone before gluing. I have not had any more problems building bows. I have shot at least 500 arrows with the first bow that I made, and it works great. When I do make a bow out of the riser that you sent me, I will send a picture.        John       Chesterfield Twp, Michigan.
