I swear if I had a glue up go %100 right I'd freak out lol... well i blow her up to 65 psi and i hear a hissss... the dern stem is letting air out... grrrrrr well everything is glued and ready to go... so I improvised and grabbed my painters tape rapped a piece on it and screwed the cap on tight... and no leak but thats not a perm solution can i grab these from wally world or somethin??

Hmmmm....I got mine from Binghams too.  I'm not sure where else to get them.

yea everything is ok right now i'm goin to check pressure in 20-30 min.... make sure its holding... I just got this bow in the oven.....

Just get a schrader valve tool and tighten the schrader valve. Sometimes you can use a tiny screw driver or a pick and snug it uo to get you by.

If its just the core, a tool from the farm store or auto parts store and a pack of cores will fix ya up. Wally may have em too, never looked.

o crap well i just checked and i'm still loosing pressure... went from 65-45.... how do i fix this with a screw driver??? thats about my only option at 930 out here...

the part that is leaking is the actual part that you push to let air out....

Just get in there and turn it. You should be able to see a spot that you can stick the tip of the screw driver into. Get it outta the oven until you stop the leak. Turn the screw driver just like you would if it was  a screw. You need a pocket size screw driver.

Get a tool tho!!! It will never be used again but it is better to have and not need than need and not have.
Any place that sells/fixes tires should have a schrader valve tool.
(or a core tool   )

Brandon looks like we were glueing up bows at the same time..I also put one in the oven tonight, a 58" recurve .. glad you got the leak fixed, tomorrow I am going to the auto parts store and buying a couple of spare scrader valves and the little tool to install them. I keep a complete spare hose arround just in case of a hose/plug failure, my spare is also long enough to fit my 64" longbow form..

ha cool must be something in the southern air lol... Mine is a 54in long bow.... I'll post pics if you do... yea I need to order me a spare as well...

It is a good idea to check the hose to see if it holds pressure by putting the inflated hose ends in a bucket of water and be sure they dont leek.  I think that Bingham also recommends that. I have had one of their hoses for about 12 years and I still check it before it is time to use it.  Sometimes the clamps need tightened and I have also had the valve loosen up like you did but caught it before glue up.

That is a very good reason to use heat strips instead of a hot box. The bow only needs to cook for 20-30 minutes, and the hose only stays under pressure for an hour or so...

If you end up with a slow leak you can just add some air until it's done, then repair your hose.

I have lots of hose but I do not have any plugs at this time.
