I was asked this question a few weeks ago by my wife. This will be her first bow and try at shooting. She got to pick out what she wanted (white glass and a leopardwood riser) and needed a 20#@ 20"draw bow. This one is right there. I got the plans from Gregg (thanks Bud)- I still need to finish the tips and get some finish on it- here is a preview of it--

Give me a bow a topo and two weeks, and I guarantee I kill two weeks!

That's awesome Trux! She will be the envy of wherever she shoots.

How was that leopardwood to work with? I was considering using it as a backing to a board bow i'm starting soon. Either oak or cherry, leaning towards cherry. Whattya think of it?

I've never used it in the limbs- I think it would be too brittle- works great for risers, overlays etc. As a really thin lam it would probably work- it isn't bad to work with once the sharp edges are gone- up to that point I get alot of splinters.

What a bow, Trux! Impressive....

I used leopardwood/lacewood in my last take down in the limbs. it worked well under glass, but as backing on all-wooden-bows?? I dont think so..

in past even the future was better, so what do you want?

Good looking bow but be careful of a reaction to that stuff. I had to wash out my whole shop because of the way it nailed me.
But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

Thanks for all the complements- got some finish on it today- the wife is glad she stuck with leopardwood for the riser with the white glass.
The bow ended up 20#'s@ 20", and 58" ntn. the stack was .040 glass, .095 .002 taper and a .060 parallel.

kennym

Very sharp bow!! Many points made! LOL
Stay sharp, Kenny.

So, you make a bow and she's happy, and your off the hook. HMM- 27 years of full access to my wallet and all I needed to do was make a bow. At least it was only 27 years, oh well.

Truly- That is a fine looking bow, worthy of anyone from novice to pro, beautiful contrast from wood to glass. Congratulations for a fine looking Bow and congratulations to your wife for receiving  a wonderful gift.
