This is my first stab at an r/d ipe bow.It did not start out good.In an eariler post i thought the ipe cracked all the way to the bamboo out of the form. Well It cracked allmost all the way.I sanded the belly down past the crack in the ipe and added a lamb of osage(I had to heat the osage lamb to bend up the fades on the riser but the heat gun worked pretty slick) .I know my tiller isent perfect but this r/d tiller thing is a little hard for me to grasp.I was shooting for 55#@30".It came out 51#@30".Ive shot about 50 arrows through it.Seems well mannered.Ive noticed it started to get a small spot like the grain is lifting on the belly in the same spot the ipe cracked. Its only 1/4" wide.I soaked it with thin ca glue I guess time will tell if it holds or not.Im going to shoot it some more tomorrow before I finish the handle and tips. Thanks for looking.Scott

Looks pretty good to me, Scott. Did you make the osage lams?

Stan,I Have a stack of osage lams a friend gave me.A friend of his cut them quite a few years ago. Most are odd sizes all parallel. Some are nice and uniform others not so.It was hard to fined two that matched close. At this time I dont have a good way of grinding lams but its something I would like to look into in the future. Thanks, scott
