Greg, your bows never disappoint, both of these are super, but Lumpy is still my favorite. Nice work.
It is better to be approximately right than exactly wrong.

Those are some really beautiful bows. Great job! Thanks for sharing.  :)

Sweet!  Both are great, but I especially like the snake skinned osage.

I love them. I want to do a belly lam and a backing for my first failed bow. It was a hickory and it failed in a way the back came off. I was think osage belly and back or even sinew back. You have inspired me to at least give her a try.

Thanks guys,
Shakes, I rubbed on enough finish to fill the grain, then wet sanded with 1000 grit. After that I rubbed on the final coat and called it good. There's probably 8 coats total.
I got home last night from a hunting trip. The osage/sinew claimed all the ruffed grouse we could eat.
I didnt miss, thats right where I was aiming

Thats some pretty good shootin Greg. Never had grouse, do they taste as good as quail?

GREG IN MALAD

I've never tried quail. To me ruffed grouse tastes like cornish game hens, very mild and delicate. Blue grouse are a different matter. They are a very strong flavored dark meat bird, kind of like eating a duck. I wont shoot blue grouse unless they are young ones.
