Just finished this one up. Its 60" ntn, 54# @ 28". I toasted the belly and flipped the tips just a pinch to ward off a steep string angle. The finish is Tru Oil with no stain.I cut the wood off a cousins place. My gramps nicknamed him Chub when he was a fat, little baby. The name stuck 30 years later and gramps is still kickin'!

Im a "D" bow-aholic Don. I live to feel that handle bend at full draw. The last 4 bows have all been bendy's.

Dang! That was fast. I cut some a couple of months ago. Was it pretty easy to work with?

Very easy to work. I used a few tricks from Paul Comstock to dry it very fast. I cant see it get any drier, or lighter than it is. Is it seasoned?...nope. But it holds very little set after I unbrace it (about 1")and sure snaps an arrow harder than any bow I have made from any other wood. This one I think I will actually keep on my rack.   :bigsmyl:

One sweet lookin hunk of wood Chris!  Love that tiller!

Nice work, Pearlie. That full draw pic tells it all. So what are your thoughts on "Mongolian Tulip". Kris gave me a large chunk of it at the Tenn. Classic. I've never tried it before.

And there it is, Great Job Man!
Looks like you nailed that tiller perfect and I'm glad the Mongolian Tulip came through with flying colors cause I've got a pile of it.

You'll be seeing pics of my first bow from this wood in the not so distant future. But I think I'll leave a handle on mine, I tend to like a bit of something for my palm to rest on cause it helps keep me from torquing the bow too much.

Its my new favorite wood Pat. I have worked osage, oak, maple, cherry, hickory, yew and now Hackberry. As I was told, it reacted to heat very nicely, it toasted evenely and nicely. And....its VERY light weight so it zips an arrow with authority. Im in total love with this bow, she is sticking with me from here out.

Yeah sure, you say that now until the next one comes along, then the next, and the next.   :D

Im serious! I have given away all bows but this one and one other. The rest are all around the country flingin' arrows. This one stays Im telling you! Just try to get it from me.   :deadhorse:
