Just finished a refinish and ready to restitch leather grip.Any suggestions on stitching material? I like what was on it but it had to go to sand off old finish.

PEARL DRUMS

I use two strands of 70# artificial sinew and love it.

Leather boot laces from Wally world work real well and they even have braided nylon ones that are brown/black multicolored like camo that look really cool. Lately I have been using B50 bowstring material and I usually double it to get the thickness I want, it's tough stuff. Just look through the craft section in Wally world and you'll find all kinds of neat goodies, but the old women will look at ya kinda funny.

Oh and Don nice job and my old leather had glue under it I supose to keep it from twisting any recommendations on a suitable waterproof adhesive?

PEARL DRUMS

I dont use a any glue. Cut your leather a good 1/4-3/8" short, it will stretch enough to make a perfect fit that wont move. I do the same exact thing Don does. Roll all the edges over and glue them, that allows you to really yank on the sinew to pull the seams together tight. I have about 20,000 various beads laying around I put on mine to match up with somebodys personality, or just match string color. Just a little something to make it a one of a kind!

Uncle Buck

Three Rivers Archery has a short instuctional video on thier site and I believe on youtube.

i use duco cement under my leather wraps. some people use barge cement. 3 rivers has a good tutorial video on how to do a handle wrap like uncle buck suggests. the way they do it is how i do it. don
