Scott, I'm not sure how much tweaking is normal but I had to tweak the tips probably half a dozen times. I had them lined up nice until I heat treated it. Then they went all out of whack again. Got them lined up nicely though in the end. When unbraced one tip is off center by maybe a 1/4" to 3/8" but lines up well when braced.
