Well, the quickest way is to draw it too far, but the results ain't that pretty.

Sorry...I couldn't resist.    :knothead:

a simple way is to miter cut it , and make a sleeve. google "rawhide takedown" , theres also a fiberglass one recently on the bench...

the easiest way is to use a bow sleeve, even for a glass backed bow. you can purchase a bow sleeve through 3 rivers archery, and pine hollow longbows. both are sponsors here. ruddy

If the bow is already made, there is no easy way.

If your laying up a new one, any of the popular methods work well.

miter cut , scarf joint , rawhide or fiberglass cover. a nice one was just recently on the bench. make the bow , cut it  , go to town...

I have done several using the Connexion hinge and find it quite straight forward, at least on my straight longbows.   I have a "hinge along" on my web site:

Click on "Archery Activity" and scroll down to the Connexion hinge links.

I would have some reservations on bows with curved riser surfaces or very heavy bows, but for longbows, I love it.
