I think I was in maybe 18 bucks...usually around 20ish I think is the norm.

Thats a one piece bow around 66 to 68 inches.

shipping from canada cost around $80 to my recipient- i did send a few extra small things- just to fill the tube up- but i geuss that added a little extra weight.

Next swap will be a glass bow from me. I should be able to get two or three done before that due date so PLENTY of time to practice.  Might have to hope for a short guy so that shipping charges can be less.

My bow was like 60" long and I think I used a 3" tube. If I remember right, I think it was between 12 and 13 bucks to ship. I thought it was quite a bargain.

DVSHUNTER

Yep, that's about what mine was. I used the good ole usps.

On another note... Let's hope Hova shipped today. He did promise. Post office closes at 530 here I think.

I was told to not pick or gouge at Hova so I am not going to say a thing.  :-)

I am thinking that a deflexed bushbow would be super cheap on the shipping front.  They NAIL you hard when you get oversized.

It was not for the swap but I shipped 2 bows, 1 bow blank, and about 9 arrows back from Iraq and that was not over $40.

DVSHUNTER

Kate, I'm not pickin on him, just noting that he said he would ship today. That's all.              :deadhorse:

I have shipped out allot of bows all over the country, most range between 12-25 dollars. When in a tube and USPS

AKmud

I shipped my trade bow in a 6' piece of drain pipe (much lighter than PVC) from AK to AR and it ran about $22 through the USPS even with $200 insurance.

red hill

Yep, around $25 bucks with some insurance by the usps.  Not too bad.

I talked to Hova on the phone sunday and he assured me he would ship today so DVS is right... We'll see.

If it doesn't arrive by thursday then he's done and I will have a back up sent to you John.

I have a few bows in the works and I'm sure one will be next years swap bow.    :bigsmyl:

Got my fingers crossed for the guy.  I am glad there is a backup plan in case.

Just made up some new arrows, and hopefully I'll have a bow waiting for me back home when I get back from school for winter break. That'd be a nice winter surprise! I don't have the facilities to make a bow here at school but I can spend time making strings, arrows etc.

KellyG

John as long as you have some outdoor space you have the facilities. Plus you may spark interest and get few buddies in the process.

soopernate

John I feel bad that you have had to be on the unfortunate end of things in this trade.  I hope he made good on his promise and sent it out Monday.  If not, I am sure that we will make it right by you as a community so as not to let this bad experience sour you on the yearly swap idea.  I hear you about doing bow making at school...STRICTLY forbidden here.

Nate there have been a few guys step up and offer an extra bow both years. Just goes to show the true spirit of things here.

John I will do some checking on things and find out for whether it shipped or not. I hope so but if not there is a back up plan.

Next year I guarantee there won't be anybody waiting this long, I will start banning after 90 days from the the deadline. I hate to be that way but action always seem to make a point. I will also be requiring phone #'s to be sent to me and Kelly if he helps again. I expect a bid turn out and Kelly and myself will have alot to deal with and won't need it drug out any longer than necessary.

Stiks

P.S. John if there is any way you can let me know tomorrow if your bow arrives by tomorrow I would appreciate it.
