I done told you wrong, that tree was called golden rain or pride of india, not tree of paradise. Either way it's really good looking bow wood and I'm sure xxxx xxxxxxx xx xxxxxxx will love it.

I would be happy with the "warm up bow", it has a nice shape.  Greg, is there any chance I could see a picture of the form?
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Walt, I have the form at my house, I'll take a picture of it and post it up later today.

Canopy boy, I don't know how ipe reacts to heat but I know most tropicals don't like dry heat. My uncle heated a piece of Jatoba and it folded as soon as he put strain on it.

If your wanting to put in reflex I would glue it in on a BBI.

I know of 2 bows shipped so ******** and ******** let me know when you get them.

Mine is almost ready for low brace.  Gluing up an accent piece of zebra wood on the handle.  The knot disaster was averted after adjusting the profile a bit and working the thickness down during tillering.  Hopefully there won't be any more surprises with this one!

Just got back from the post office.I shipped my trade bow out.Watch your porch! The eagle is expected to land on 04-07-2011.

Was working on my trade bow last night and got it tillered to draw length. Now comes the fun part. Sanding and adding all the little finishing touches to make em pretty.

Keenan

Hey there?????? I shot your bow about 50 plus rounds yesterday, shot real good. Today she got a finish sand and the detail work on her skins and tips, then a light coat of sealer to protect the skins. I want to take her to a friend that shoots your style and draw length to make sure she's ready for the finish.
What I've designed for you is an ambush style bow that is short for use in a tree stand or ground blind. She is a 58" sinewed juniper that is a slight bend through the handle design to give full advantage of her limns to accomidate your draw length. I am happy to say that she has been tillered to one inch past your draw length. And seems to have handled it well.   :bigsmyl:   I'm getting excited in hopes that this will be a favorite hunting bow for you.
Here is what a group at 20 yards looked like.

I will probably just do anything by gluing it in.  But I may also play with some scraps just to see.  I'll post any results I get.

Keenan looks like shes a shooter!Nice arrows by the way!Love the feathers!

Walt, here is a picture of Greg's recurve form.

Hova, the Black Locust is the brownish colored wood on the outsides of the stack. I think what you are seeing as green is the Yellow Heart. I took that pic with my iPhone so it is not the best quality.

I cant wait to see it Keenan.

I worked on my trade bow again tonight. Slimmed the tips some and picked out a few decorations for it. I decided on Wenge for overlays. I got a pretty cool looking piece picked out. I'm also planning on a handle overlay to match the tips... Or I might stain and skin. I can't make up my mind. I've got some killer skins here, but lately I've been really liking the simple beauty of all wood, expecially as it darkens in the sun, so we'll see I guess.

No full draw till completion.

Lane, Thanks.

DVS that bow is looking good!

Keenan, I would be ecstatic with the bow you made.  However, I have found the person drawing the bow, with some matched arrows, has more influence on a grouping like that then the bow.  That there is a good grouping!
