Hello, I live in New Zealand and new to building bows. I have been fiddling with some of our native species mocking up some laminates just to see how they go. Is there anyone out there that is interested in trying some NZ wood. I would be keen to send some folks a few blocks of black maire, matai, lancewood, rimu, totara. Black maire is NZ's hardeset and second most dense wood. Not sure about how the others rank. I do know that you need to drill seasoned rimu if you plan on getting a nail in it. I am not looking for $ just to see how these woods work for others in building a bow. If anyone is interested let me know and I can get some pics together

Are you talking about blocks long enough to make laminations from, or to make actual self bows from? Do you know the specific gravity of these woods?
