64 1/2" tip/tip  limbs tapering to just short of midlimb to about 5/8" for now.  You can see I had a shortage of wood in the handle area. The stave took a sharp angle from one back edge to the opposite belly edge. I filled it up with short thin pieces of shoe leather soaked in super glue.






Starting out with about an inch of back set. Each limbs takes a little more natural backset about 10 " from the tip. I had to heat one of the limbs from the handle out about 8" to match the other.

Interesting patch, Kodiak. Only had one go with osage. Can't wait till I get more.

If the patch doesn't work, you should still have enough wood for a D bow.

I have mixed osage saw dust with titebond glue for filler and it worked out well. Takes awhile to cure though. The leather super glue works too!

I did similar handle fix years ago.

Started with this, not enough wood for a handle.

 

Laminated a bunch of strips on to fill out the handle and backed the bow with bamboo.

 

Shaped the handle.

 

Years later a guy emailed me and said he bought a bow at a bow shop in Chattanooga Tn with my name on it and wanted to know about the bow. Turns out it was my "Frankenstein" bow. I had sent it to a guy in Penn, how it migrated to Chattanooga is anyone's guess.
