i have some 100% silk cord.  It's 60 # per cord. And my bow is 55#. So my question is that. Should i only have 2 runs of string on each side of the jig.  A total of 2 complete loops.   I also have some waxed linen that has a breaking point of 8# per thread. would that need to be too thick. in order to be good?

And one other question.  Do you keep alot of pressure on the string while wrapping it the pins on the jig?

for a 50-60lb long bow I use 14 strands of B50. Don't know about the silk string material you asked about. When I serve the end loops I keep the string very tight, trying to eleminate as much twist as possible. I put the finished string on the bow to serve the center serving.
