Ive got an osage bow i built with several courses of sinew from two animals I'm pretty proud of. My 2nd and 3rd traditional deer, one being my 1st and only traditional buck (with my kids in my avatar). The bow came in way under weight and is a big disapointment. I glued it on with knox gelatin. I'd like to reclaim this sinew for a new bow. Anyone have any tips on how to do this? Can I just soak it off in water?

I have never done it, but I have been told that it will come right off if soaked in water.

You can just soak it off. I removed sinew from an osage bow a few weeks ago. I used a tea kettle to steam it and soften the glue. One side peeled off without steam. It had started lifting and I gingerly lifted it down the limb.


 The other limb had to be steamed to remove the sinew. I just steamed as I worked down the limb.
