How do you heat treat the belly of a bow and what are the benefits of this?

Use a heat gun about 6 in. from the surface until it turns brown. It like hardens the wood and will help keep it from take as much set. If you have the 4th TBB. It gives good details.

hey, it also makes the belly of the wood look really cool.  You want to tiller the bow to about 20" before heat treating it.  Otherwise, you might end up scraping off all the tempered wood in effect wasting your time.
