for those of you that  saw the no glass test, i just finished debuggering the fist real bow off the form, here is some pics.

the riser is vertically laminated maple, walnut, cherry and mahogany. with a cherry "marty" swoosh, bordered by black glass.  it has a strip of solid maple between the laminated block and the back of the bow.  brown glass and boo for a total stack of 0.380,  feels heavy. will be 1.45 at the fades, tips are going to have to me small of me to draw it!

I had help tonight.

he insisted i post this one.

Russ, that really looks nice.  I don't know what it is about the brown colored glass, but it is my favorite.
Can't wait to see it when it is done.

time for a update and pictures...  added corner blocks to bulk up the handle tappered the last 18 inchs of the limbs tips are now 3/4 inch wide.  i was worried about draw weight so i knocked it at 68"  feels like about 50# but very smooth...  i guess a 68" recurve should be!  stared at the riser for about an hour, before shaping, i was worried about it getting to busy as the inner lams of the riser started to show.  started filing and was instantly happy. i had to get some pics up so you guys could see..  i think i am going to have to overlay the back of the riser to build up on the handle.  thinking cherry and walnut to match to bow. i strung the bow and drew it a couple of times,  looks just like the test bow did.

the riser looks  great.  Here is tip someone gave me. You want the highest part of the arrow rest to be directly above the deepest part of the grip.  It makes the natural point of aim better.
