There's an area where I hunt that is full of what I believe are choke cherry trees/bushes. As I'm sitting and waiting I start looking at the trees around me and wondering which ones could be used to make a bow. So my question is has anyone used chokecherry to make a bow?

Choke cherry was one of the favorites of the Western Natives I believe.

Yes, Pat is right it was widely used here in Alberta as was Saskatoon(Service Berry) by the Native population.
I have some Choke Cherry in my backyard that is a good 2 1/2" in diameter and am starting to get some ideas, altough I think the Natives used far smaller "sprouts"
Good luck with your project, go for it!!
Regards, Bert.

Thanks for the info. I thought I had read something about it some place, but couldn't remember where.
