well they are done and ready for service....here they are.   My liberty chief is on the tree.  It's kind of crooked looking, something I need to look at.   The U brackets are level though as is the 2x4 mounted to the wall....nothing fancy.

well pulled some on my liberty last nite (60lbs), my pull once she starts getting some weight is a PAIN in the butt....is there a better pully system?  this one mounts directly to the 2x4.  I'll post pics of it tonight.   homedepot and lowes had some others, however they didnt mount directly to the 2x.....  Other then that their will be some osage shavings tonight!

My pulley mounts to an eyebolt, it's kind of a pain too, it's hard to find a good one that will hold up to the stress. McMaster Carr has some on their website.

ok..trouble on the tree.

so I faceted the handle, giving the bbo it's typical bulbous handle style and am now having problems with the bow rolling in the cradle.   Dont have a big vice grip with flat jaws to span the gap between them..was thinking of making a filler for the middle giving it something to clamp too?  Idears?

I'm using a stringer as my long string, right now there is no string grooves cut yet.

I use old welders gloves to steady enough support for the handle in the tree. Keeps it from rolling or slipping around.

I know it's a little late for this piece of advise, but I leave the handle square until the tillering is done.

I use a couple of wedges.

ya I was thinking about that, leaving the handle square..oops.  

not sure I get the welders glove idear, but the wedge is simple enough.

next time I'll leave it square, lesson learned........

There is no need to shape the handle or tips until the tillering is done.

well I shaped the tips so I could get the long string on....

Shaped the handle just following the dryad vid....Made sense though as you'd have to have the facets running into the handle to get the near handle wood to bend?   Which atleast on my jig would just about round out the handle enough she wont keep from rolling..

About your pully, is it rated for the amount of pound you will be pulling to?  Not all are the same.
